Marios Fanourakis is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Geneva. His BSc and MSc were in Electrical Engineering where he developed interests in signal processing, machine learning, sensing, and automation. He earned his PhD at the University of Geneva in the subject of privacy in the era of edge computing. In parallel, he worked in several European projects developing agent-based dialog and home control systems embodied in virtual avatars and robots. This familiarized him with affect-capable human-machine interfaces and motivated him to seek to contribute in the advancement of affective computing.
